Are these public cruises sold by the seat?
Yes. Public Sandbar Social cruises are ticketed per seat, so you can book just a couple of spots or bring a big group. Want the whole boat to yourselves? That’s a private charter — hit “Build a Custom Cruise” and we’ll set it up.
Where do the cruises launch from?
The Sandbar Social departs from The Reeds at Shelter Haven — 325 96th Street, Stone Harbor, NJ 08247, dockside on the Shelter Haven Basin. Arrive about 30 minutes before departure — boats leave on schedule.
How big is the boat / how many guests?
The Sandbar Social is our biggest boat, built for large groups. Public cruises seat well beyond the 6-guest limit of our pontoons — exact capacity and remaining seats for each date show live in the booking widget above.
Is there a bar aboard?
Yes — the Sandbar Social has a licensed onboard bar with beer, seltzers, and cocktails available for purchase on every public cruise. No need to pack a cooler — outside alcohol isn't permitted. 21+ to drink.
Can I bring kids? A group?
Absolutely — families and groups are welcome on public cruises (kids ride with a guardian; life vests provided). For big celebrations, grab a block of seats together or ask us about chartering the whole boat.
What if the weather is bad?
We believe in the Cape May bubble — it rarely rains for long down here. If a cruise is canceled for weather, you’ll be able to reschedule free of charge or get a full refund. We often run on overcast days, which make for the best photos.
